It has been another successful month here in the Sarah Waddington Solicitors Timeshare department. We have helped many Timeshare owners relinquish their contracts from such resorts as Wimpen Leisure in Tenerife, Seasons Holidays, Paradise King’s Club in Paphos, Diamond Resorts, Grange Lakes in the USA, and Bluegreen Vacations, and received compensation for our clients from the Fortina Spa in Malta.
In all of the successful relinquishments we have been part of this month, there were an array of tactics used to ensure success. In some cases, we are now working with these clients to secure compensation from either the Timeshare company themselves, or the Finance company where loans or credit cards were purchased in order to obtain the Timeshare contract in the first place.
For example, we have been able to secure compensation for two Fortina Spa owners this month, with £14,000 being delivered back to our clients already, and a further £6,500 still being fought for. These clients are well into their seventies, and after being mis-sold their Timeshare are delighted to have finally got back the money they were rightfully owed.
Furthermore, for the Wimpen Leisure owners, their timeshare was deeded, adding another complication to the matter. Our Principal Solicitor Sarah Waddington, who worked directly on these cases, had this to say:
“In cases where an Escitura is involved, this can be very complicated. An Escritura is a Spanish Title Deed that is used to recognise a private property, this means that Timeshare owners own an actual piece of that property. An Escritura will be signed by a Notary in Spain, and they will store it. Meaning we may have to locate the original copy, this can be very time consuming. But this case against Wimpen Leisure, proves that we can help Timeshare owners legally exit their contracts even when a notarised Escritura has been provided at the time of purchase. Persistence beats resistance and persistence certainly paid dividends in these cases.”
The owners of this Wimpen Leisure Timeshare said “Thank you for the letter confirming the relinquishment of my time share. I was very pleased to receive it. I would like to thank you and your team for all your hard work, you made it very easy for me all I had to do was be patient. So, thank you very much and should anyone ask I will definitely recommend you.”
This month we have also helped some of our clients stop the payments of their finance agreement, which was used to pay for their Club La Costa Timeshare! This has not only relieved a huge burden from their shoulders, but also enabled them to focus their attention to their legal case against Club La Costa as this will only strengthen their case. When you consider that their monthly finance payments in conjunction with their maintenance fees have been stopped thanks to our help, you can imagine the sense of relief these owners feel each month.
