Transferring to a Revolut card warning

Be very aware if you are asked to pay fees to a company, not regulated by either the SRA or the FCA, via a Revolut Card.  You must ask yourself why they have left traditional banking. This may be due to banks taking away banking and credit card facilities from unregulated companies and the fact that they are taking on work they should not be.

This can be found on the Revolut website: –

Does Revolute have FCA protection?

Your normal Revolute accounts (which are e-money accounts you hold with us) are not covered by the Scheme, but are “safeguarded”. This means that whenever money is moved from your Savings Vault back to your normal Revolute account, it stops being protected by the FSCS, but is safeguarded instead.

Will Revolute refund me if I get scammed?

Unlike banks, Revolut is not signed up to a code that aims to reimburse customers for this type of fraud.Dec 5, 2022 Also It does not have a UK banking licence. It applied for one in January 2021 but is still waiting for the outcome.

So the question is why?

Why would any company use this method of banking to collect money, if they were operating properly?

If you’re unsure of how your money with a particular company is protected, check out the FCA’s “Financial Services Register”. This is a list of the companies that the FCA regulates. It tells you what type of licence each company has and how the company protects your funds.

DO NOT pay money to any company whatsoever if you are unsure as to how you are being asked to pay, or you do not know if the company you are paying is regulated. Contact us on etc.
